Multi-family Interior Renovation
Services
Multi-Family Drywall and Paint
Drywall undergoes significant wear-and-tear during normal occupancy of a unit, so it’s crucial to repair and refresh drywall and paint to enhance the aesthetic appeal of your interiors and add value for residents. We install and repair drywall and repaint walls and trim, creating a professional, brand-new look for multi-family unit interiors. We use high-quality Sherwin Williams paint that reduces chemical emissions and the need for touch-ups.
At ASH, we can finish drywall and paint renovation in 2 days for a single unit, and our pricing ranges from $1,500-$2,500, depending on unit size.
Multi-Family Cabinets and Countertops
Of all the spaces in a multi-family property, the kitchen and the bathrooms typically make the biggest impact on a prospective resident’s decision to rent. For this reason, it’s crucial that the cabinetry and countertops are aesthetically pleasing and add value. We update, install, repair, and finish cabinets and countertops, improving the look and feel of multi-family unit kitchens and bathrooms.
To add value without straining your budget, we typically “reface” cabinets, meaning we replace the cabinet door fronts while leaving the boxes as-is, hiding any imperfections in the box with full overlay fronts. The cost for cabinet refacing ranges from $2,500-$3,200, and we can finish a unit in about two days.
Often, property managers will choose to resurface or replace kitchen and bathroom countertops at the same time as the cabinets, to achieve a consistent and unified look throughout the unit. Resurfacing a countertop (which consists of sanding down and repainting) costs around $600. Installing new laminate countertops can range from $900-$1200, and new granite countertops from $2200-$3200. New countertop installation only takes a day per unit, and resurfacing takes 2-3 days per unit.
Multi-Family Lighting and Electrical
The lighting of a multi-family property can be one of the most important aspects of a unit for prospective residents. Since most units are empty when the tenant views them, without furniture to distract them, renovated lighting fixtures can make a space look like a whole new room at a very low cost. We are a licensed and certified electrical contractor and can improve your multi-family property’s electrical functionality, aesthetics, and efficiency.
It can cost between $500-$1500 to redo the lighting of a unit, which means replacing light fixtures, plugs, and switches in the foyer, entryway, dining room, kitchen, bathrooms, and other heavily-trafficked areas of the unit. It takes about a day for us to complete electrical and lighting renovation.
Multi-Family Plumbing
We install new plumbing, remove or repair existing plumbing, and renovate to comply with building plumbing codes. Specifically, we repair and replace faucets, sinks, supply lines, P-traps, garbage disposals, and bathtub and shower trim kits, to ensure that all plumbing hardware is functional and aesthetically pleasing.
Plumbing renovation takes about half a day per unit and can cost anywhere from $900-$1,250.
Multi-Family HVAC
Well-functioning heating, cooling, and ventilation systems are key to ensuring indoor air quality and tenants’ comfort. We are licensed and certified to service existing HVAC systems or install new ones to improve safety, efficiency, and functionality. We also replace HVAC registers (the vents in the walls or ceiling) and thermostats to achieve a consistent aesthetic.
HVAC renovation takes about half a day per unit and can cost anywhere from $500-$750.
Multi-Family Flooring
We repair, remove, and replace all kinds of flooring and subflooring to give unit interiors a sleek, professional look. Flooring is commonly damaged after a resident moves out due to normal wear-and-tear, so it’s essential to partner with a flooring contractor that will ensure your flooring is structurally sound and aesthetically pleasing.
We specialize in carpet (for bedrooms) and luxury vinyl plank, also called LVP (for high-traffic areas and wet areas like bathrooms and kitchens). We’ll also repair the subfloor as needed when replacing flooring.
We understand that flooring replacement can be one of the most disruptive renovation services for residents, so we pride ourselves on working quickly and efficiently. We can refloor a unit in half a day, and the cost ranges from $3,000-$5,000.
Multi-Family Trim
We install, repair, and paint window and door casings, baseboards, crown moldings, and other kinds of interior trim to provide aesthetic accents to unit interiors and repair damage from normal wear-and-tear. We use high-quality Sherwin Williams paint to ensure your trim will look good and last a long time.
Trim renovation takes us about half a day per unit, and the cost can range from $250-$1,000.
Multi-Family Hardware
We remodel, repair, or replace any interior hardware, including cabinet hinges, poles, door hinges, knobs, and levers, door stops, shelving, window blinds, towel bars, toilet paper holders, towel rings, shower rods, and more.
Hardware renovation takes us about half a day per unit, and the cost can range from $800-$1,200.
